19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid period, managing just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former coach Cervara.

Presently training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has gradually improved in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents the player's first championship following the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.

Success also means he has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one various events.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my children at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his past six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.

His defensive strategy and recurring reactions on court had caused some to doubt if his skill to play at the top level was finished.

However the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, reinforced by an improved service.

Medvedev came back from a break down in the first set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players traded break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to force a decider.

The opponent defended four early chances in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner secured the win with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet failing to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
